F1 2019 is a Formula 1 racing game that's flexible enough to serve as a serious simulator or an arcade action title. Players who want an extremely realistic simulation can configure their cars to use manual transmissions and adjust tire pressures independently from one another. This level of control ensures that they're free to adjust their cars however they'd like.

Those who have a steering wheel and pedal set hooked up to their PCs via USB will especially appreciate this attention to detail. A quick visit to the controller setup screen is all it takes to turn your hardware steering wheel into the virtual controls of a real Formula 1 racing machine. Since the game includes real-life constructors like Honda and Renault along with sponsors like Castrol, you'll feel like you're behind the controls of an actual car.

Gamers who prefer a less intense experience can switch on automatic transmission and play the game with a joypad or even their keyboard. This should prove especially attractive for those who have fairly powerful laptop computers, since F1 2019 should run at a high frame rate on these machines without the need for any external hardware. Even hardcore players might prefer this mode because truly customized race cars are generally offered to those who drive in online e-sports competitions.

Regardless of what kind of player you are, you'll like that they've included all of the cars and drivers that participated in the 2019 Formula 2 Championship. Since F2 cars are piloted by junior drivers, they're usually left out of video games even if they have an official FIA license. F1 2019, however, includes all of the junior drivers who were signed to rides in the F2 class. Their cars even feature different physics from F1 machines.

While the excellent graphics might be a bit of a drain on some older PCs, they're certainly stunning. The game has gorgeous backgrounds and real life fans of Formula 1 racing will be able to pick out all of the details of their favorite tracks. As far as graphics go, the most notable might be Monte Carlo. The Monaco Grand Prix is drawn out in lush detail that makes it look like the real thing. Online virtual racing enthusiasts who don't currently have the right kind of graphics adapter to enjoy this level of visual complexity may very well find themselves wanting to invest in it.
